Every course (except CENG 4 and CENG 199) must be taken for a letter grade. All courses are 4-units unless stated below.
All CENG courses (in blue) are taught only once per year and are scheduled to be consistent with the curriculum shown below.
The courses listed here other than NANO are under the control of other departments. They may not be offered in the quarter shown here. Each student is responsible for determining the prerequisites when the courses are to be offered and making a schedule of taking the courses that fit into his or her own graduation plan.

*CENG 15: This course will be offered in the Fall and may be offered in the Winter Quarters. If you cannot register for CENG 15 in the Fall, you may enroll in MAE 8 in Winter or Spring Quarters, if it is being offered.

***Students must petition to take CENG 101A concurrently with MATH 20E (Vector Calculus) as most community colleges do not teach vector calculus. If you have taken this course, please go to assist.org to see if it is equivalent. If there is no equivalency, you may check with the Math Department, asking if it's equivalent. The Math Department does have a Math 20E exam.
1General Education (G.E.) Requirements: The 36 units shown are for Warren College students as an example to fulfill the general education requirements. Students in other colleges need to adjust the plan to match their own college requirements. To meet the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET requirements, http://www.abet.org, students must have up to twenty-four units in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, not including subjects such as accounting, industrial management, finance, and personnel administration.
2Chemistry Core: Three advanced chemistry electives must be selected from among CHEM 130, 131, 132, 140A, 140B, 114A (or BIBC 100), 114B (or BIBC 102), 120A, 120B, or 143A. (Note: Students may not receive credit for both BIBC 100 and CHEM 114A, or BIBC 102 and Chem 114B).
Two recommended options are CHEM 140A, 114A (or BIBC 100), and 143A for those interested in biochemical/organic; CHEM 120A, 130, and 140A for those interested in inorganic/materials.
3Probability and Statistics: Effective Winter 2015 for students who want to switch to the new curriculum: If you have not taken ECE 109 or any of its equivalents (before SP15*), you must take CENG 114. There will be no equivalents for CENG 114. Students should not take CENG 114 if they have completed ECE 109 or an equivalent before SP15*.) CENG 114 will not count as a TE.
Students who are enrolled in ECE 109 or an equivalent course (not CENG 114) in WI15 (or prior to WI15) must fill out a petition requesting to use ECE 109 or the equivalent course instead of CENG 114.
4Area of Specialization/ Technical Electives: The three required technical electives must be upper-division or graduate courses in engineering, based on the pre-approved courses. Otherwise, the selections must receive prior approval of the department to meet the ABET standards. Suggestions are listed here.
5Process Dynamics and Control: If a student chooses the Process Dynamics and Control as the area of specialization, CENG 120 can be replaced by MAE 143B within the approved set of courses for specialization in process control.
